ABOUT ÇAĞDAŞ DOĞAN

Hi, I’m Çağdaş Doğan, a Game UX Researcher with a background in psychology and cognitive science. Currently completing my MSc in Psychological Sciences at Kadir Has University with a full scholarship, I focus on exploring how cognitive, emotional, and social processes shape player behavior across video games.

My academic training centers on social and cognitive psychology, and I’ve developed strong skills in research design, behavioral data analysis, and user-centered evaluation. This has allowed me to work across a range of domains, uncovering insights that enhance playability, engagement, and immersion.

Psychology Meets UX

From conducting user tests to mapping the needs of players, I integrate qualitative and quantitative methods to turn behavior into design guidance. My work with digital products that answers real-world problems focuses on usability, offering a clear view of how psychological insight can shape inclusive services.

I’m especially drawn to how digitalization and emerging technologies, like human–AI interaction or gamified systems, can benefit from user research grounded in psychology. Whether in games or digital apps, I aim to bridge the gap between human behavior and product design.

My Journey to Psychology and Gaming

Growing up, games were more than just play for me. They were windows into decision-making, motivation, and human connection. My fascination with how games influence thought and emotion eventually led me to study psychology, where I found a scientific framework to explore what I had always observed intuitively: the deep link between interaction and behavior.

This curiosity now fuels my work in Game UX Research, where I combine my understanding of player psychology with rigorous methods to improve how games feel, function, and engage.
